There are so many distractions in our world today, it seems that something is always pulling our attention away from God. This is a song about hoping for a deeper relationship with God, a relationship that can transcend those distractions.
lyrics
It seems like every time I fall, I fall a little harder.
I say "I'm coming back to You", give an inch but take a yard, or
Don't even tray at all. I don't know why you bother.
I open up the book, I swear I will read one more chapter.
Phone rings and I'm off the hook, I guess You'll have to wait 'til after.
Should have known that I'd try and fail, days passing and I'm getting nowhere.
Sometimes I feel like I've got nothing left to bring.
No song that hasn't been sung left for me to sing.
And then I pray this prayer of desperation.
Give me words when I don't know how to praise You.
Give me vision to make these blind eyes see.
Give me ears to hear Your words of truth and mercy.
Lord won't you make me better than me?
It's Sunday morning, can I please just sleep for five more minutes?
Don't know how I can speak Your truth when my heart isn't in it.
Only one thing left to do - hit my knees and I'm coming back to you.
Give me words when I don't know how to praise You.
Give me vision to make these blind eyes see.
Give me ears to hear Your words of truth and mercy.
Lord won't you make me better than me?
Sometimes I feel like I've got nothing left to bring.
No song that hasn't been sung left for me to sing.
And then I pray this prayer of desperation.
Give me words when I don't know how to praise You.
Give me vision to make these blind eyes see.
Give me ears to hear Your words of truth and mercy.
Lord won't you make me better than me?
